2012 Ford Focus clutch switch bypass

+1 vote
2102 Ford Focus, not push-to-start.

Diagrams show two clutch switch locations.

One at the clutch pedal which is a basic switch to ground.  The wire goes low as soon as the pedal is depressed.   I can override that one by grounding the wire.

However Ford decided this wasn't good enough and added another switch in the circuit.  This wire (Which I found in pin 12, 42 pin connector at the BCM) is actuated only when the pedal reaches the floor, one would hope it is a basic to ground switch as well but it certainly is not.  My ohmeter reads 7Megohms resistance to ground at rest and 9ohms when the pedal is depressed.  I cannot override this particular wire function by connecting this wire to ground.  Has anyone else come across this?

The bypass module is evo-all and functions perfect, as well as the prostart remote starter so those two have absolutely nothing to do with this issue.  The only thing I need to fix before this setup will work is to make the car start without physically depressing the pedal which in every other case should be to ground the clutch switch.

Hi Ben,

Sending straight ground at the same time to both switchs will bypass the clutch. You must relays to power both.

I sent them both to ground with a clip leads and then attempted to start the car with the key.  It would not turn over unless I depress the pedal.  Are you saying they have to be simultaneous?

Are you saying they have to be simultaneous?

Correct.

I was looking at how DEI and ADS recommend and we all say the same thing. Send ground to clutch switchs at the same time.

Thank you I will attempt that method tomorrow
Thank you that worked.  It is crazy because the pedal itself doesn't simultaneously ground both the circuits but it works now so I'm happy
Excellent, glad you got it figured out.
