2016 Mustang MT NCNS

0 votes

Good afternoon,

I am having an issue with my 2016 Mustang MT not cranking or starting with the remote start feature. Vehicle goes into ready mode after the correct sequence, the module clicks and a solid red LED appears on the back of the module itself. After setting ready mode, I hop out and press lock twice to kill the vehicle. Lastly, I use the 3x lock sequence to remote start the vehicle, it primes, and I just hear the relay that I installed clicking over and over and the accessory mode turning on and off repeatedly until I manually start the vehicle to break the sequence. I thought it was an issue with the sacrificed key, but I held my regular-use key fob in the vehicle to confirm that it wasn't the issue, still the same condition as before. All connections look to be good, only soldered connections were used.

Thank you for your help.

Ignition ON but no crank may indicate a problem with the clutch wiring. A quick test would be to remote start the vehicle and then physically pushing down the clutch. Disconnect the RED connector of the evo when performing this test.

The sacrificied key does need to be in the area highlighted in the guide. If it's a key issue, typically the ignition would not power up and the vehicle may indicate a message such as "no key in range" or "no key detected".

Robert,

I attempted to try your first test, and nothing had changed unfortunately.

When the car turns off after being put into ready-mode, the message, "Restart Now or Key Needed" appears. Does this mean the key isn't being detected? I know messages like, "No Key Detected" exist too, not sure if they are much different or mean the same thing. The sacrificed key is laying on the driver-side floorboard in the open, near the seat and center console for testing, but according to the guide it looks like it's fine to go there. Should I go ahead and order another key to re-program/try out?

Best, Cayden
