How to get the Center Brake light turned on by EVO- 2010 Nissan Altima

0 votes
EVO ALL and T-HARN connections are all good.  Programmed EVO fine.  When pressing remote 3X, the car does not start, but the brake lights come on.  The EVO shows a red LED when trying to start.  I called Fortin tech support and they told me that the problem is related to the center brake light not turning on by the EVO.  The center brake light turns on OK by pressing the brake pedal.  EVO is not sending some signal to turn on the center brake light.  I tried to use both RL1 and RL2 connectors and both do the same thing.

Any ideas on how to get EVO to turn on the center brake light?

According to the guide you will want to use the RL1 harness.

Is the car auto or standard? presuming auto:

Have you double checked that the white/black (pin A19) is connected and has a good connection to the brown wire at the PTS button?

On these cars all stop lights (left, right and center) are all fed by the wire at the brake switch so i think you may have another problem.

You may be able to verify if the brake light is the problem if you sit in the car attempt to remote start the car and manually push the brake pedal (this is presuming the EVO-All ignores brake status during crank) if the car starts there is a problem with the brake switch connection, if not you have a different problem(s)

Thanks for your response Adam

I actually went back to the EVO options on the computer.  The Bypass was not selected.  After setting it the car turned on using 3x on the remote.  Thanks again.
