EVO-All and Remote Start - No Red Light no Start

0 votes
I have an Evo-all and a remote starter on my 2011 Buick Regal.  I am having two problems:

1.   When I press the lock/unlock button on the starter remote, the Fortin flashes blue but the doors do not unlock.  The trunk does not pop either.

2.  When I press the remote start button, the dash lights come on, but the car doesn't crank and doesn't try to start.  The light on the Fortin turns yellow, but never turns red.  I enabled the 3x unlock on the factory remote, and I can start the car that way.  The troubleshooting tips page said that this is most likely an issue with the GWR, but how do I fix this?  Do I need to add a time delay relay?

WHat remote starter are you using ? What is the service number on the module.

The service number on my Fortin EVO-ALL is 001A06 785313.  The remote starter I am using is an EasyGuard EC002.

I did some more troubleshooting this weekend, and here is what I found.

1.  I hooked up a relay using ACC to generate the GWR signal to the Fortin.  I can measure with a multimeter that the voltage on the GWR input to the EVO-ALL drops from 12V to 0V when I remote start the car.  The yellow light turns on, but the red light on the Fortin EVO-ALL never turns on and the car does not start.

2.  If I leave a key in the ignition, and remote start the car, the car starts fine and stays running but the red light on the EVO-ALL still never comes on.

3.  If I test with the factory remote by pressing lock 3X, the car starts.

4.  I ran wires between GND and GWR with a mechanical toggle switch.  I can flip the switch and see the voltage changes from 12V to 0V, but the red light on the EVO-ALL never comes on.

Could I have a defective EVO-ALL?  What else can I do to troubleshoot the GWR issue?

I should also mention that I also monitored the voltage when pressing the button on the remote to lock/unlock the doors.  I can see the voltage drop from 12V to 0V for about 1 second, but the Fortin does not send the command to the car to unlock the doors.
