76.10 in D2D mode - Not Supported

+1 vote
Did 2014 Kia Rondo yesterday w/viper brain.

Evo-All would NOT lock into D2D mode. Tech support said I needed Ver 6 hardware. Everything we have is ver 6.

Had problems with "brake" signal. Turned off the brake signal in the EVO and hard-wired and all was well.

Need to do 2014 Optima today and it shows 76.10 firmware minimum. Without a properly working D2D mode I need to do W2W :(

Please update firmware(s) to be D2D compatible! This is a Kia dealership and will be switching bypass kits to another solution that does work in D2D if no solution soon (as in a couple of weeks tops)

I confirmed the D2D problem by downloading an older version of flashlink updater. When in FORTIN mode it shows up to 76.10 however when I click D2D 76.02 is the highest option.

I have to assume it is with the firmware itself and not hardware or flashing problem.

Hi Jeremy,

Do you have a service number for one of those EVOs?

We removed the D2D selction box you have seen in older version of the flash link because now you have to actually go into the EVO-ALL options menu and turn on the datalink protocol you would like: Fortin , AP/OFA or D2D.

Yes that sounds about right. If you want to use D2D now you have to go into the Option tab and turn on Option 21.3 after flashing the EVO with the latest firmware for whichever make vehicle.

The problem is you CAN NOT turn on D2D in 21.3. Click the button all you want. It lights up and stays there, but does not actually go INTO D2D

You can try. It says saved successfully, but on the main page, it still loads up as FORTIN. Nothing past 76.02 will lock in D2D. 76.01, 76.02 will lock into D2D fine.

Its a problem with the flash link software or the firmware.

They are running into it right now where they have to use 76.10 which means W2W install.

Doing 2014 Forte, regular key, manual trans. Cut the datalink wires. Going w2w. They currently cannot get locks to work. EVO blinks when lock/unlock hit but no response from the car. He is going to check his wiring again.

But we really need to get this D2D function sorted out.

There is no designation with your firmware, but Idata shows Auto Trans only for 2014 Forte, regular key.

Any thoughts?

First and foremost, update the Flash-Link Manager. If there is a drop down selection box in the EVO-All Firmware updates section to select Fortin or D2D/DBI then it is not the right Flash-Link Manager firmware. D2D is only now supported through the options menu with the latest firmware. You do not have to flash the EVO with a D2D firmware anymore, its only a matter of turning On the option. Latest Flash-Link Manager firmware is 3.31.

I just programmed an EVO with the Flash-Link with D2D turned On and with Firmware 76.10. Flawless victory.

Notice that there is no datalink protocol selection box anymore.

Yes, I understand that 100%, however it DOES NOT WORK.

After flashing and updating the D2D selection, go back to the summary screen. (Or unplug and plug back in the EVO)

IT always shows FORTIN.

The ONLY way it will say D2D on the summary screen is if we flash 76.02 or older.

I left a VM, please call me.
The D2D option is not even available with the firmware 76.02 and older. The datalink protocol options were only added in 76.08 and above. The only way to have done D2D in this case was by also using an older version on the Flash-Link Manager.

There is one thing i noticed though. If you go through the Options button on the bottom right corner (and not the EVO-ALL Options tab above) of the Flash-Link you would still be able to change datalink protocols with older firmwares even though those options are not supposed to be available.

Currently, the summary will always tell you Fortin RS232 protocol no matter which datalink protocol is selected in the Options; Fortin, AP/OFA or D2D. I showed this to engineering and there should be changes done with later updates.

All in all, the D2D mode works fine. The text on the summary is just not showing up right though.
