The Ford programming procedure is to allow the vehicles BCM to actaully enter programming. If the vehicle has properly entered programming, the EVO grabs the encyrption at the end of programming.

If the keys are not master keys the vehicle would not allow to enter programming. Same thing, if one of the keys is a clone, it will not allow the vehicle to enter programming. If the timing of key1 on/off key2 on/off, it will not allow the vehicle to enter programming (this procedure is most likely also written in the vehicle user guide on how to program a key).

If you have the flash-link updater, i would recommend to do the DCyrptor programming procedure instead of the 2 key procedure.

Thanks for info Robert the keys are ford keys but unknown if clones....where can a fellow get an flash-link updater?

The flash-link is available either through our distributors or through our website. Just make sure the connections for Rx Tx and ignition are good and retry the regular programming just in case. Sucks to order a unit and later find out it was only a connection issue or something silly.

Cloned keys, if i remember right, have a pound sign on the shaft of the key. Regular Ford keys will have an S, or HA stamped there in 2003.

i double checked the rx-tx connections(all good) and will retry the programming before ordering a flash link, the keys do have an s stamp on them,,is it normal to have different coloured flashes for the two keys when programming? Sometimes after trying the programming all 3 leds will flash on and off?

three leds flashing on-off at the same time means power was lost at some point. If you were to only plug the datalink into the unit (without holding the programming button), all three leds will flash at the same time non stop when the unit is not programmed, this is normal; if it happens during programming then it's a sign there may be a power issue somewhere. I dunno where the datalink is connected but remove it and just send power and ground directly to the red and black wires of the datalink connector. Try programming that way.

S stamp is a good sign. You should be able to enter vehicle programming with those keys. Now let's hope the BCM is not locked for spare key programming or has already filled it allowed key spots.

tried all the items listed above, nothing would work,i assume the dealer has to check the computer now, just taped a key beside the ignition cylinder so the remote start will work, and see about going to dealer for scan
might need to remove that taped key when you go the dealer. If they have to reprogram the keys, that key stuck there will interfere and they will spend hrs trying to figure out what's wrong.
