2014 explorer stand alone problems

0 votes

Hello,

I have a customer with a 2014 ford explorer. im using a evo-all with a thar-ford1 harness in a stand alone application  and im having trouble getting it to work...it programs fine as far as the instructions go...

  • i have the 3 lock start function turned on
  • when i lock it three times..the acc and ignition power on but the starter wire does not engage
  • there is power to the white red and red wires..good ground to the solid black and solid orange wires

when it starts there is no starter output and when i give it starter ....the only way it will start is if i put the key up to the cylinder

im also running 71.11 software and tried 71.05 and 71.06

any comments / help?

Hi Chris,

What is the 12 digit service number written on the back of the EVO?
This is a key model and not push-to-start?

From I can understand, the EVO does not seem to be clicking its second relay for start (this is the Yellow/red, yellow/blue and yellow/green from the red connector). If you look at the non Tharness guide, it may help get a visual of what is going on in the Tharness.

Here is the guide: STAND ALONE EVO-ALL & Ford Edge, Explorer, F-series & Flex 80-bits (2011-2013) - Revision 20131010

  • We need to know what is happeniing on the Yellow/Blue and Yellow/Green during what is supposed to be crank.

Some things to look at also:

  • I don't know which options are turned on yet, but, make sure Option 12 is not turned on.
  • The driver door pin wires should not be reversed.
  • The yellow wire of the EVO should be going to the yellow wire on the Tharness. Not the Yellow/Black.
